Our Story
Providence's downtown corner café.
Little City Coffee & Kitchen sits at 170 Mathewson Street in Providence's downtown — a few blocks from the theaters, galleries, and offices that make this city hum. We opened as a gathering place for the neighborhood: somewhere you'd feel comfortable staying for an hour or grabbing something on the run.
The space is designed to feel like the city itself — warm but sharp, familiar but alive. Plywood shelves overflow with plants, round wood tables fill with regulars, and the smell of espresso is constant.
We take the coffee seriously — obsessively, even. We serve only Tandem Coffee Roasters beans, a Portland roastery we trust completely. We take the food seriously too, which is why we close the kitchen at 12:30 — quality over quantity.

Our kitchen runs fresh every morning. Breakfast sandwiches, house-made sauces, and pastries sourced from Providence bakers — real food, made right.
Accessible to All
We believe great coffee should be for everyone. Our space is fully wheelchair accessible, and we offer takeout and delivery so you can enjoy Little City anywhere.
